June 2026: Media Coverage of Book Continues
Perry Hibner, author of the book Centennial Revisited: An Oral History of the Epic TV Miniseries, did an interview with Ed Robertson’s TV Confidential last month that is scheduled to run in late June.
Robertson indicated the 50-minute interview, which took place on May 13 and covered the book’s origin, favorite interviews with cast and crew, stories that were shared on and off set, and the legacy of the miniseries, would air on June 26. It will then be available as a podcast starting Monday, June 29.
Robertson ran a preview clip on the TV Confidential website on June 1 that is approximately 8 minutes in length.
TV Confidential is a two-hour radio talk show about all aspects of television that directs itself primarily to the Baby Boomer, Generation X and senior markets. The show reaches about 27.6 million potential listeners every weekend in more than 30 radio markets across the United States and Canada, including top five markets New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The TV Confidential podcast reaches an estimated total audience of about 15,000 a week across all major streaming platforms.
Hibner also appeared on WMTV-Ch. 15’s 4 p.m. newscast on Wednesday, May 6 and did a 3-minute interview with anchor Leigh Mills, who has won a national Edward R. Murrow Award and four regional Emmy Awards. He spoke about why he wanted to write the book, what inspired him to do the interviews, what he hopes fans and others purchase the book, and author events he was holding in Sun Prairie and Portage, Wis. later in May.
Hibner also did interviews with Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Kirby Adams of the Louisville Courier-Journal for a story that appeared in the newspaper’s e-edition on Saturday, May 30.
He also was interviewed by editor Vanessa Ferrell of The Bracken County News, a weekly newspaper, and the story appeared on Thursday, May 14. He was interviewed by Jon Baker of the Tuscarawas County Bargain Hunter for a story that appeared in late May highlighting Hibner’s upcoming author events in Coshocton and Dover, Ohio.
Hibner was also interviewed by Ledger-Independent editor Peyton Dunaway for a story about his appearance in Augusta, Ky. The story ran on Wednesday, June 3. The Independent-Ledger is based out of Maysville, Ky.
Hibner’s book contains more than 75 interviews with cast, crew, extras, locals, experts, and fans. Among those interviewed were Gregory Harrison (Levi Zendt), Barbara Carrera (Clay Basket), Cristina Raines (Lucinda McKeag Zendt), Cliff DeYoung (John Skimmerhorn), William Atherton (Jim Lloyd), Stephen McHattie (Jake Pasquinel), Kario Salem (Mike Pasquinel), Mark Harmon (Captain John McIntosh), and John Wilder, who adapted the James A. Michener best-selling novel for television and was the main producer. The book also includes excerpts from more than 60 primary sources.
